"Telling meaningful stories and building connection through visual design."

Adriana la artista is a Santa Barbara and Ventura County-based artist and graphic designer rooted in California’s 805. She studied graphic design with a focus on poster design and the role of visual communication in building community and mobilizing people around shared causes. Inspired by the Chicano Movement of the 1960s and reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, her work explores culture, community, and lived experience through bold, expressive illustration.
Adriana specializes in posters for social issues, campaigns, and calls to action, while also experimenting with painting as part of her evolving creative journey. Her work has been recognized by the Association for Women in Communications Santa Barbara with the Women of Achievement Award in 2025, and featured on the cover of the Santa Barbara Independent in 2020. She has been featured twice in Latino Book Review Magazine and exhibited at galleries and institutions including Sullivan Goss, the Mexican Consulate in Oxnard, the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara, MACLA (Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana), Atkinson Gallery, Arts Fund Santa Barbara, WORKS/San José, Self Help Graphics, and the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art. Adriana has also created posters for national organizations such as Amplifier Art and the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). She remains deeply involved in the local arts community through the Santa Barbara Arts Council in 2022 and as a Board of Trustee member at the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara (MCASB).
